MIDDLEBURY – Mrs. Barbara (Korner) Lucas, age 85, of Middlebury, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of Saint Mary’s Hospital. She was the wife of Michael J. Lucas.
Barbara was born April 26,1939 in Waterbury, daughter of the late George T. and Adele (Ricciardi) Korner. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher in both Long Beach, Calif., and Naugatuck.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy besides her husband, Michael, of Middlebury, are her siblings: brother, George (Karen) Korner of New Canaan; sisters, Linda (Gerry) Walther of St. Louis, Mo., and Kristine (the late Jack) Hannemann of Barnstable, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucas will be on Saturday, June 8, 2024 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Midd-South Catholic Parish, St. John of the Cross Church, West Road, Middlebury at 11 a.m.
