IHG Hotels & Resorts Adds Almost 1,000 Rooms to Portuguese Pipeline

IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is excited to announce the signing of nine hotels across Portugal, adding 976 rooms to the country’s robust and growing pipeline. These signings span three IHG brand collections, including luxury and lifestyle brands Kimpton Lisbon, Hotel Indigo Albufeira, and Hotel Indigo Faro, as well as the Essentials Collection with six Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express properties.

Portugal, a key priority market for IHG, has experienced tremendous growth in recent years. This includes brand debuts with Vignette Collection Casa da Companhia and Vignette Collection Lisbon Convent Square, and the signing of Kimpton Algarve São Rafael Atlántico, set to open in 2025.

Essentials Collection Signings

• Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lisbon – Amoreiras: 192-room hotel opening in early 2025, located in Lisbon’s financial district.
• Holiday Inn Express & Suites Portimão: 60-room hotel opening in early 2025, located near the marina and beaches of the Algarve.
• Holiday Inn Express Porto – Boavista: 91-room hotel opening in late 2024 in Porto’s Boavista neighborhood.
• Holiday Inn Express Evora: 76-room hotel opening in late 2024, converted from a historic building in Evora.
• Holiday Inn Braga: 114-room hotel opening in late 2024, located in the culturally rich city of Braga.
• Holiday Inn Beja: 95-room hotel opening in late 2024, situated within Beja Castle.

Luxury & Lifestyle Collection Signings

• Kimpton Lisbon: 141-room hotel opening in early 2026, located near key attractions in Lisbon.
• Hotel Indigo Albufeira: 80-room hotel opening in mid-2025, featuring a rooftop pool and local culinary offerings.
• Hotel Indigo Faro: 127-room hotel opening in late 2026, offering scenic views of Faro’s marina and lagoon.

IHG operates 20 hotels in Portugal across seven brands and has a pipeline of 15 additional hotels. These new signings further solidify IHG’s commitment to expanding its presence in this key market.
