Alec and Hilaria Baldwin Really Want You to See What It’s Like Raising Seven Kids

As if raising seven kids doesn’t sound exhausting enough, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have decided to add filming a reality TV show to the mix. On Tuesday, the couple announced a new series following the famous (and often times controversial) family, The Baldwins, due to premiere on TLC next year. Along with the announcement, they shared a short clip of their seven Tasmanian devils cycloning through their home as they attempted to explain the show.
“We have an announcement to make,” Hilaria says at the start of the clip, and Alec deadpans, “Good God, no.” And she confirms, “We’re done having kids.” The rest of the clip shows why.
Boys and girls run and scream and ride hobby horses. One toddler even climbs onto Alec’s legs and shrieks. “Home is the place we love to be most,” Alec then declares. It ends with the couple trying to get their septet to say, “We are the Baldwins,” but it doesn’t go so hot, so Alec ends the clip saying, “God help you all.”
“Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have been making headlines since they were married nearly 12 years ago,” TLC’s synopsis reads. “In this TLC follow-doc series, Alec and Hilaria invite viewers into the home they share with their seven growing kids. For the first time, they’re opening up their family lives and bringing everyone in to join in the nonstop love, laughter and drama.”
The timing of the announcement arrives as Alec faces legal complications related to a shooting on the set of his film Rust two years ago, during which the actor allegedly fired a gun with a live round in it, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Baldwin will stand trial next month for involuntary manslaughter and faces up to 18 months in prison if convicted. The actor has pleaded not guilty. This week, a judge ruled that documentary footage related to the production could not be used as evidence.
It is unclear when The Baldwins plans to film the first season (if they haven’t begun already) and if there will be any mention of the Rust trial in the show.
