Express forecast

  • Today: Partly to mostly sunny. Isolated shower or storm chance. Highs: 84-88.
  • Tonight: Partly cloudy, warm. Lows: 66-69.
  • Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy, scattered showers and storms. Highs: 81-85.

Forecast in detail

A burst of warmer, muggier conditions is around for a few days before a cool front sweeps through late this week. Some days are warmer (today and Thursday) and other days have more storm chances (tomorrow). But overall, highs mostly range in the 80s with lows in the 60s. Lower humidity and marginally cooler temperatures arrive Friday into the weekend, but we still can’t dismiss a small chance of showers and thundershowers.

Today (Tuesday): It’s partly to mostly sunny with moderate humidity (dew points in the middle 60s) as highs reach the mid- to upper 80s. A brief afternoon to evening shower or thunderstorm is possible. Light winds blow from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: There’s a slight risk of a quick evening shower or storm but, otherwise, skies are partly to mostly cloudy overnight and warm with lows in the mid- to upper 60s. Light winds are from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Wednesday): This is one of our more unsettled days with increased cloud cover and coverage of scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening. It’s not as warm with highs in the low-to-mid 80s but it’s muggy with dew points in the mid- to upper 60s. Light winds blow from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph again. Confidence: Medium

Tomorrow night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue through at least the evening hours under mostly cloudy skies as lows range from the muggy upper 60s to low 70s. Confidence: Medium

A look ahead

Thursday will probably end up as the warmest day of the week with afternoon highs in the mid- to upper 80s along with moderate to high humidity. Skies are partly sunny with emerging clouds probably producing showers and storms in the late afternoon and evening. Then skies become partly cloudy Thursday night with lows in the 60s. Confidence: Medium

Friday features partly to mostly sunny skies with highs in the low 80s along with a noticeable reduction in humidity in the wake of a cold front. An isolated afternoon to evening downpour or storm is still possible, however. Friday night should be partly cloudy and more comfortable with lows in the 50s in the suburbs to around 60 in the city. Confidence: Medium

The weekend is looking mostly nice with partly to mostly sunny skies. There is still a risk of an isolated shower or storm each afternoon and into the evening. Highs are in the mid- to upper 70s on Saturday and upper 70s to low 80s by Sunday. Lows on Saturday night are again in the 50s to near 60 with just a few clouds around. Humidity levels remain relatively low with dew points mostly in the 50s. Confidence: Medium
