A ribbon-cutting Monday celebrated the reopening of the St. Mary Parish Library Amelia Branch, 625 Lake Palourde Road. The renovation is by ARL Construction. Present for the ribbon-cutting were Branch Director Ashton Myers, library board Vice Chair Cherie Laiche, library board Treasurer Jason Watson, Chamber President Beth Chiasson, Amelia Branch Manager Jessica Washington along with her staff and other employees of the St. Mary Parish Library System, and patrons of the library. Monday was also the first day of the branch's annual Summer Reading program, which runs through July 12.
