Despite some well-placed puffy clouds to filter some of the sun today, highs ended up deep into the 80s and around 90 locally. It seems we fell just short in the city, keeping our tally of 90-degree days at one for the season, which is a few below average. A front working its way into the region will keep us from getting as toasty tomorrow. It’ll also deliver rain in the process.

Through Tonight: As a warm front approaches the region, a couple showers could break out overnight. Any raindrops are more miss than hit, with lows making the 60s in most spots and around 70 in the city.

Tomorrow (Wednesday): Any breaks of sun tend to favor the morning. It’s unlikely to be a washout, but waves of showers and storms may pass, especially in the afternoon. Muggy low and mid-80s are a good bet for highs. Winds should blow from the south around five to 10 mph.

Pollen update: Grass pollen and mold spores are moderate/high. Tree pollen is low/moderate.
Wednesday storms: Multiple rounds of showers and storms are possible, particularly tomorrow afternoon into the night. While the severe weather threat is not very high, abundant moisture and instability could lead some storms to become intense with perhaps an isolated damaging wind threat. The main risk might be the potential for some heavy rain in spots. While not everyone will get doused, some places could pick up an inch or two relatively quickly. Given the lack of substantial rain of late, the possibility of any flooding seems low.
