Unidentified human remains found at Park County camping site

Last week, officials from the Park County Sheriff’s Office, the Park County Coroner’s Office and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation confirmed the discovery of human remains in an area outside of Bailey on United States Forest Service land.

The location of the discovery is a remote camping area outside of Bailey.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigations has taken the lead in the investigation. Currently, information about the case is limited, but updates will be provided as new information emerges.



According to the press release from the bureau, the scene has been secured while forensic specialists and authorities conduct examinations and collect evidence in order to identify the remains and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.
