Shanna Moakler has recalled competing with her now ex-husband, Travis Barker, over who was the better parent.

Shanna and Travis got married in 2004, and while they were together, they welcomed two children: Alabama, now 18, and Landon, 20.
Shanna also welcomed 25-year-old Atiana in a previous relationship. Travis is still super close with Atiana.
Shanna and Travis’s tumultuous relationship ended in 2008 when the pair divorced. Though they briefly rekindled things the following year, they ultimately parted ways for good.
Ever since Travis started dating his now-wife, Kourtney Kardashian, in 2021, Shanna hasn’t shied away from publicly criticizing their relationship.

Just a few months ago, Shanna suggested that Travis and Kourtney had purposefully tried to one-up her when it came to parenting.
“When Travis got with Kourtney, there was some parental alienation going on there, where Travis — even when we weren’t together — always wanted to be the ‘super dad,’” she said on the Dumb Blonde podcast.

“‘I’m the best parent. I’m the this and that, and I’m like, ‘Bro, you win.’ Like, you’re the winner here. You have all the money and you have all this. You’re the winner,” said Shanna, who previously suggested that the Kardashians’ excessive wealth had played a part in driving a “wedge” between her and her kids.
Now, Shanna has looked back on her recent comments during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live.

In the recent interview, Shanna was asked about her claims that Travis and Kourtney have attempted to alienate her as a parent. She responded, “When they first started dating, that was something I felt affected my kids and I. But I feel like I’ve dealt with that with Travis since my kids were born. That was something that was very prevalent in my relationship with him.”

Then, when asked about any “competition” she has with Travis regarding parenting, she said: “I gave up; I was never really trying to compete. I gave that up a long time ago... I was like, ‘You win. Like you’re the winner.”

Shanna also lifted the lid on where she and Travis stand today.

“We coparent,” she said, adding that they only communicate if there’s an “issue” with their children. “Otherwise, we don’t really have a friendship — we’re not close,” she said.

“I’m happy for him. He’s in a good place — the kids love the new baby, Rocky,” she said of Travis and Kourtney’s baby boy, who was born late last year.
