A new incubator space for women-owned businesses opened its doors in Jeffersonville on Monday.
The space, Wall Street Suites, features rentable suites at an affordable price for women to start up their business.
The owner, Deidra Collins, is an established entrepreneur.
"Wall Street Suites is a place for collaboration, creativity and to conquer and kind of knock down those barriers that a lot of female entrepreneurs have with financing, opportunity, networking," Collins said. "So it's really just a place to launch a new business and network."
The space has seven suites available, plus two common spaces for women to work together. Each rentable space offers different square footage and price.
"You see business owners, female business owners, but we're not really networking and collaborating, and it really needs to be elevated and shared. So I hope the legacy of Wall Street Suites is women [business owners] to be elevated in unconventional spaces," Collins said.
To encourage more diversity in the business sector, Collins offers discounted rates to veterans, nonprofits, women over the age of 55, and first-time business owners.
Wall Street Suites currently has all seven rooms available for rent. If you're interested in learning more or would like to take a tour, click here.
