Man and woman in custody after leading troopers on 145-mph chase

According to Highway Patrol, the chase started in Wilson Mills off of U.S. 70 and reached speeds of 145 mph. Authorities said they were pursuing a man and woman, later identified as Kahshon Nahkiem Cunningham and Promise Allure Hope, on several drug charges.

Two people are in custody Monday after leading state troopers on a chase through Johnston County.

According to Highway Patrol, the chase started in Wilson Mills off of U.S. 70 and reached speeds of 145 mph.

Authorities said they were pursuing a man and woman, later identified as Kahshon Nahkiem Cunningham and Promise Allure Hope, on several drug charges.

The suspects surrendered peacefully, and authorities recovered drugs on Hope.

Authorities said both Cunningham and Hope have numerous felonies.
