Today’s daily digit

A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

6/10: While we can’t rule out a downpour late, it’s generally nice, if you don’t mind a touch of humidity.

Express forecast

  • Today: Partly sunny, isolated shower or storm possible. Highs: 81 to 86.
  • Tonight: Evening shower possible. Lows: 61 to 68.
  • Tomorrow: Partly sunny, slight shower chance late. Highs: 80 to 85.

Forecast in detail

This is one of those weeks in which you’ll hear rain in the forecast a lot, but it may not actually rain that much. Showers and storms could pop up most days — until Friday perhaps — but they’ll mostly be hit or miss and late in the day. Temperatures are pretty close to normal, with highs generally in the low to mid-80s.

Today (Monday): Skies are partly sunny, and it’s warm and a bit muggy (dew points mid-60s). We can’t rule out a passing shower or storm, mainly in the afternoon, but most of us stay dry. Highs are in the low to mid-80s, with light winds from the northeast. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: A quick-hitting evening downpour can’t be ruled out. Otherwise, it’s partly cloudy and warm, with lows ranging in the low to mid-60s, except upper 60s downtown. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Tuesday): It’s a lot like today but a hair less humid (dew points in the low 60s). Under partly sunny skies, highs range from the low to mid-80s, and a pop-up shower or storm is possible. Light winds are from the east at around 5 to 10 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: A few scattered showers and storms are possible in the evening (30 percent chance) but probably won’t be widespread. Skies are mostly cloudy overnight with lows 60 to 65. Confidence: Medium-High

A look ahead

Wednesday is partly sunny with highs once again 80 to 85 or so. A warm front could set off some showers and storms, especially toward evening. Wednesday night is muggy, with lows 65 to 70. Confidence: Medium

Variable cloud cover on Thursday with the week’s highest chance of showers and storms during the afternoon and evening. It’s quite warm and humid with highs in the mid- to upper 80s. Showers and storms should exit to the east at night with lows in the 60s. Confidence: Medium

Friday through Sunday should bring a noticeable drop in humidity behind a cold front. Under partly to mostly sunny skies, highs shouldn’t be too far from 80. It has the potential to be pretty nice overall, although a pop-up shower isn’t impossible on any afternoon. Nighttime lows range from 55 to 60 in our cooler areas to the 60s elsewhere. Confidence: Low-Medium
