Employee shot at Raleigh gun range during training; third shooting since last year
A person was injured Sunday afternoon in an accidental shooting at a gun range in Raleigh -- the second shooting at the gun range in the last two days and the third shooting since July.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, a person was shot around 3:30 p.m. at the OnPoint Shooting Range at 3501 Spring Forest Road.
According to the gun range's Facebook page, the victim was an employee and they were injured during training.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and police are not searching for a suspect.
This is the second shooting investigation at the gun range in the last two days and the third shooting in the last year.
On Friday, a man was taken to the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the head at OnPoint. Limited details were available, but the gun range posted a statement on Facebook:
"We are all deeply saddened by a tragic incident that occurred at our range today. Our hearts go out to the family of the individual involved and to everyone affected by this unfortunate event. We want to assure everyone that this was an isolated incident involving a single person. At no time were any other customers or employees in any danger. We want to respect the privacy of those involved. We will not provide further comments or details at this time."
On July 5, 2023, a man died after being shot at the range.
