Intersect Aspen Art and Design Fair returns to the Aspen Ice Garden between July 30-Aug. 3.
The 2024 edition of the annual art fair brings together a mix of modern and contemporary galleries from around the globe and offers timely and original programming. The art fair will feature over 100 artists with nearly 30 galleries from over 20 cities including a dozen first-time exhibitors.
“We are thrilled with the lineup of galleries and artists. As Aspen’s annual art fair, Intersect Aspen Art and Design delivers exceptional experiences,” said Tim von Gal, CEO, Intersect Art and Design, in a prepared statement. “We strive to create a space for collectors and art enthusiasts to immerse themselves in viewing, acquiring, learning about, and discussing the art and continue to be a must-attend event during Aspen’s world-renowned ArtWeek.”
What’s new
New this year in the event’s title is the word “design,” which will also be reflected on the show floor with exhibits from some of the world’s top contemporary design galleries, including Todd Merrill Studio, Mastrangelo, and BDDW.
Artist Meghann Riepenhoff, represented by Jackson Fine Art, will be at the fair for the first time. She will exhibit a selection of her camera-less photography, with work captured in the Aspen and surrounding Roaring Fork Valley area. She uses natural elements, such as the sun and primarily water, to execute her camera-less cyanotype process.
Work from artist Zaria Forman, represented by Winston Wächter Fine Art, will be showcased. She is celebrated for her works documenting climate change in pastel. Forman magnifies the physical complexities of polar ice, reflecting its beauty and fragility. Her pieces tell the history of the ice’s journey from its prehistoric formation to today.
Yigal Ozeri, represented by Corridor Contemporary, is best known for his large-scale cinematic and photorealistic oil paintings and portraits. This will be the first time his work will be on exhibit at Intersect Aspen, which is intended to exist somewhere between reality and fantasy.
Intersect Aspen Art and Design Fair is also honored to highlight Aspen curator, community leader, and artist, D.J. Watkins who will curate a space within the fair highlighting the work of fellow preeminent local artists who are represented at his new downtown Aspen gallery, Aspen Collective.
A full calendar is planned for this year’s fair including the VIP Preview, Opening Night Reception, 2024 Intersect Aspen Artist Award, VIP Fair Tours, Artist Talks, a VIP Aspen Art Museum Tour, and a VIP Brunch on the last day of the fair.
All Access passes, Multi-Day passes, and Individual Day passes are now on sale and can be purchased at the following link: tickets.intersectaspen.com/e/intersect-aspen/tickets.
