A bomb threat was discovered on a Vistara flight from Paris to Mumbai, prompting an emergency landing. All passengers were safely evacuated as authorities responded swiftly.
An emergency was fully activated at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport after a bomb threat was discovered written on an airsickness bag aboard a Vistara flight from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The crew notified authorities at 10:08 am, and the aircraft, which was carrying 294 passengers along with 12 crew members, managed a safe landing at 10:19 am.
This incident occurred shortly after another threat was made against an IndiGo flight traveling from Varanasi to New Delhi. Authorities concluded the latter threat was a hoax following extensive checks.
A report indicated that the security team at the airport was alerted by a woman claiming her husband had a bomb in his handbag while on the IndiGo flight. The man was questioned and revealed that his wife had made the call influenced by recent news about aircraft bomb threats, citing her mental health issues.
Flight 6E 2232, from Varanasi to Delhi, was the one impacted by this threat. Following the incident, all passengers were evacuated safely, and the aircraft is presently under detailed inspection.
