Early estimates indicate a slight dip in collections on Saturday, with the film earning ₹4.6cr, totaling ₹11.35cr within two days since its release. Meanwhile, the film boasted a remarkable 20.13% Hindi occupancy on the second day, with night shows hitting a peak of 25.31%.
'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' triumphs over competitors
Mr. & Mrs. Mahi clashed with Divya Khossla Kumar's Savi: A Bloody Housewife, and, the former emerged as the clear frontrunner. Savi managed to secure only ₹3.10cr at the box office in two days. Additionally, other Hindi films such as Manoj Bajpayee's Bhaiyya Ji, released on May 24, struggled against Mahi, earning a mere ₹25 lakh on Saturday. Meanwhile, another of Rao's films, Srikanth—released on May 10—continues to hold its ground in theaters with steady momentum.
A tale of shattered dreams and cricket
Mr. & Mrs. Mahi tell the story of Rao's character dealing with his crushed dream of joining the national India team. Upon discovering his wife, Mahima's (Kapoor) cricketing talent, he becomes her coach.
