Summer Cultural Pass gets kids in free to 40-plus Louisville and southern Indiana museums, venues

Kids can get into dozens of regional museums and other venues including the Louisville Zoo, Kentucky Science Center and Speed Art Museum for free this summer.The 2024 Cultural Pass and Sumer Reading Program kicked off on Saturday at the main branch of the Louisville Library.Passes are free and aim to help children continue learning throughout the summer.Families can make trips to more than 40 Louisville and southern Indiana arts and cultural institutions, providing more options to prevent boredom."The reaction we often get is this is such a great program because it can be so expensive to take a family, multiple children or grandchildren somewhere like the zoo or the science center, so it makes those cultural institutions accessible," said Tory Parker with Fund for the Arts.Thirty-eight thousand cultural passes were given out for the summer of 2023.Families can register for their cultural passes at their local library in Jefferson, Bullitt and Oldham counties in Kentucky and Clark, Floyd and Harrison counties in Indiana.
