This week, seven Australian travel agents are touring Ireland, hosted by Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland in collaboration with Travel Associates, one of Australia’s premier luxury tour operators. These agents hail from Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne and are all luxury travel specialists and members of the prestigious Virtuoso network. Their visit aims to immerse them in Ireland’s luxury tourism offerings to enhance their expertise and enthusiasm for promoting Ireland to their clients as a top luxury holiday destination.
Sofia Hansson, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Australia and New Zealand, said: “We’re delighted these specialist luxury travel agents have taken time out of their busy schedules to come and experience our luxury tourism offering – including our boutique hotels and luxury resorts – and see for themselves what Ireland has to offer their clients. Our aim is that when they return home, they will be more knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the destination, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland.”
During their stay, they are conducting site inspections at some of Ireland’s finest luxury hotels, including Ballyfin Demesne, Cashel Palace Hotel, Castlemartyr Resort, Sheen Falls Lodge, The Europe Hotel & Resort, Dromoland Castle, Adare Manor, Mount Juliet, The Merrion, and The Shelbourne.
Their packed itinerary also features visits to Coolmore Stud, the Midleton Distillery Experience, and a Shannon Estuary cruise with Sionnan Luxury Cruises, including a stop at Scattery Island. Additionally, they are enjoying cultural and recreational activities such as a sheepdog demonstration at Caherconnell Stone Fort, falconry at Dromoland Castle, archery at Adare Manor, horse riding at Mount Juliet, and a culinary tour in Dublin with Fab Food Trails.
