CANAAN — It took less than three minutes for voters to approve a $3,242,936 municipal budget for 2024-25 and a $10,102,035 education budget during a town meeting Thursday.
The finance board then set the tax rate, effective July 1, at 24.75 mills, down from the current 25.5 mills. One mill equals $1 of tax for every $1,000 of assessed property value.
