It’s only towards the tail end of your playing career you start to properly appreciate all of the work behind the scenes at county board level to keep the whole show on the road.

They are often thankless jobs requiring a huge amount of time and effort and I’d take playing over being a chairman or a secretary every day of the week. That’s what makes me have even more respect for everything Michael Duignan has achieved in Offaly.
