JCPS hosts Bus Driver Blitz hiring event in an effort to hire more drivers

Jefferson County Public Schools are working to address the bus driving shortage.School officials held a Bus Driver Blitz on Saturday at the Hilton Garden on Crittenden Drive.Interested applicants were able to apply, be interviewed and get the required physicals on site.Along with JCPS' HR staff, a few current JCPS bus drivers were also on hand to help answer applicants' questions.Current bus drivers say hiring events are important to make transportation easier for JCPS students when they return to school in the fall.The starting salary is at $27.77 an hour.Anyone interested in becoming a JCPS bus driver can apply here.
