THOMASTON – Stephen Charles Catania, known to his family and friends as Steve, passed away at 64 years of age on May 30, 2024. Steve was husband to Kimberly Catania, the love of his life, for 36 years.
Steve was born on Aug, 15, 1959, in Hartford, the son of the late Alice and Charles Catania. He was the brother of Karen Battaglio, Charles Jr., the late Joseph, Doreen Jennings, and Philip.
Steve built a professional career of more than 40 years in loss prevention and was known for his dedication, work ethic, and commitment to his family. He spent many wonderful years raising his family and contributing to his community while enjoying home improvement, fishing, and annual vacations in Cape Cod.
In addition to his wife, Kimberly, and siblings, he is survived by his children, Ryan of Thomaston, Colby and his wife Natalie of Darien, Megan and her husband John O’Brien of Waterbury; his grandchildren, Mia and Landon; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The Catania family would like to thank the dedicated and compassionate staff at Saint Francis Hospital for providing exceptional care and the honor walk for providing the gift of life through donation.
While Steve left us far too soon, the impact he had will live on in the hearts and minds of all who love him.
To honor Steve’s memory, friends are invited to call at Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St. Watertown, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon. At the conclusion of calling hours, the family would like to invite anybody who would like to speak to share a special memory about Steve.
