Four Seasons Las Vegas hosts Sip & Strut Haute Tea on June 22, blending fashion, cocktails, and charity for The LGBTQIA+ Center of Southern Nevada.
The Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas is excited to host the Sip & Strut Haute Tea & Cocktails event on Saturday, June 22, a dynamic celebration that honors diversity and artistic expression. This special occasion supports The LGBTQIA+ Center of Southern Nevada and offers a platform for celebrating love, acceptance, and diverse identities.
During the event, attendees will be treated to a unique fashion show featuring exclusive creations from local LGBTQIA+ designers. The fashion show will include everything from high-fashion avant-garde pieces to urban streetwear and comfortable day-to-day attire, all celebrating the splendor of uniqueness. Additionally, guests will savor a luxurious afternoon filled with tea-inspired cocktails and exquisite snacks prepared by Executive Chef Michael Goodman.
“We are pleased to host this special event in recognition of Pride Month,” said Konrad Gstrein, Regional Vice President and General Manager, Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas. “At Four Seasons, we believe in the power of art to inspire, empower, and unite communities. This event is a testament to our commitment to fostering a more inclusive and diverse environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and welcomed.”
The Sip & Strut Haute Tea & Cocktails event is set to take place from 2 to 4 pm at the Veranda, the renowned restaurant of the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas. Those interested in attending must make reservations through OpenTable Experiences, with tickets priced at USD $85 each. A significant portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to The Center, supporting their vital role as a sanctuary for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Toast to Tradition and Transformation
Celebrating the rich tradition of tea within the LGBTQIA+ community, the event will introduce the Haute Tea Cocktail service. A novel concoction of gin and Earl Grey tea will be stylishly served from a decorative glass kettle, poured over ice, then enhanced with Fever Tree Club Soda and a selection of fresh botanicals. Complementing the cocktails, guests will indulge in gourmet savory selections such as Eggs on the Bun featuring Canadian ham on brioche, Smoked Salmon Rose on dark pumpernickel, and Heart Beets of Love with whipped cream cheese on white bread. The culinary journey continues with sweet treats like Earl Grey & Black Sesame Cream Puffs, colorful Over the Rainbow French Macarons, and the zesty Lemon Dream Blueberry Scones, among other delights.
“Until the mid-1960s, it was illegal for bars to sell alcohol to gay people,” shared AJ Huth, Director of Public Affairs & Civic Engagement, LGBTQIA+ Center of Southern Nevada. “Police conducted raids on gay establishments, leading members of the community to organize events where tea was served instead of alcohol. The Tea Dance was born out of the need to gather in a less law-defying environment. Respecting the role tea has played in the coming together of our community allows us to honor those who came before us. It is meaningful events curated by partners like Four Seasons Las Vegas that provides The Center with a celebratory opportunity to tip our hats to the past, while uplifting our present community members.”
Showcase of Style
As attendees enjoy their cocktails, the event will transform into a moving runway, with models parading throughout the venue showcasing the latest designs from some of the most gifted designers in the community. Represented by The Las Vegas Fashion Council, the featured designers include Nu Devel by Ronvell McClendon, BeevaLV by Jason Ghazinour, J Studios by Alexis, and Mencatto by Aldo Mencatto. This presentation will provide a vivid display of fashion innovation and artistic expression, highlighting the diverse talents within the local LGBTQIA+ design community.
“Our vision is to cultivate relationships between fashion professionals, students, emerging artists, community leaders, and organizations that have a desire to diversify the Las Vegas economy through the fashion industry,” said Carrie Carter Cooper, Founder and Executive Director, The Las Vegas Fashion Council. “This event with Four Seasons and The Center provides our designers with a platform to raise awareness for their artistry, and the chance to connect with fellow community members, allies, and supporters in a festive atmosphere of recognition.”
