Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 2.34%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Friday.

Shares of Macrotech Developers Ltd.(up 4.46 per cent), Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(up 3.9 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(up 3.86 per cent), Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd.(up 2.12 per cent) and Godrej Properties Ltd.(up 2.1 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Sunteck Realty Ltd.(down 0.9 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 2.34 per cent up at 1019.4.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 42.05 points at 22530.7, while the BSE Sensex stood up 75.71 points at 73961.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, NHPC, YES Bank, Canara Bank and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Techno Electric, Bharat Rasayan, J Kumar Infra, Jindal Stainless and WABCO India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sadhana Nitro, Revathi Equipment, Tatva Chintan Pharma Chem, Awfis Space Solution and Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels hit their fresh 52-week lows.
