School is almost out in the Roaring Fork Valley, and that means students who had access to subsidized meals through their school will no longer have that opportunity.

Colorado Mountain College (CMC) is looking for volunteers to help collect non-perishable foods and other necessities to donate to LIFT-UP in front of City Market in Aspen from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., June 10-15, which befittingly coincides with Aspen Food & Wine Classic.

LIFT-UP is a local non-profit organization founded in 1982 that helps distribute food from Aspen to Parachute. It has multiple food pantries and soup kitchens, a thrift shop, and a mobile distribution system. It will be accepting anything from non-perishable foods, diapers, laundry detergents, and personal hygiene products during the CMC food drive.

Volunteers are needed to help collect the donations in front of Aspen’s City Market, located at 711 E. Cooper Ave. in Aspen. Donations will be accepted whether or not you can volunteer.

To volunteer, contact CMC staff by calling: 970-236-0412 or by emailing: vrcox@coloradomtn.edu.
