
EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports taken from the Greeley Police Department’s daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column because of space limitations.
May 15
7:45 a.m.: A caller at Heath Middle School reported a duck in the courtyard that had made a nest. The caller was concerned it was stuck.
12:00 p.m.: A caller who lives in the 500 block of 16th Street was at work and saw multiple cops on her doorbell camera. She just wanted to know what was going on.
5:00 p.m.: A caller at an unknown address wanted to talk to an officer about someone making threats, before deciding to go to church and pray on it first and call them back later.
May 16
2:00 a.m.: A caller at an apartment complex in the 5500 block of 29th Street reported someone who didn’t live there was smoking marijuana at the bottom of the stairs.
2:00 p.m.: A caller in the 2600 block of Meadow Brook Lane reported a neighbor across the street with a history of drug use was starting a fire next to the house.
2:30 p.m.: A caller in the 300 block of 40th Avenue reported three men trying to sell cleaning products without a license.
2:45 p.m.: A caller in the 2600 block of Alpine Avenue had a ball thrown into a neighbor’s backyard. At the front door, the caller noticed a note on the basement window that said “Help Me” with an arrow pointing down.
6:15 p.m.: A caller at an unknown location reported his sister told him she was going to “destroy him” and he wanted to file a report.
6:30 p.m.: A caller in the 2100 block of 8th Avenue reported a man was knocking on doors telling people he was a federal agent.
8:00 p.m.: A caller in the 700 block of 22nd Street was afraid that someone gave her cat “speed.”
May 17
1:00 a.m.: A caller at an apartment complex in the 700 block of 22nd Street reported a woman outside the apartment trying to get in. She started off just yelling and then started throwing rocks.
9:15 a.m.: A caller at 22nd Street and 6th Avenue reported he gave his ID to an officer a few days prior and thought the officer may have still had it.
3:45 p.m.: A caller at a park in the 2800 block of C Street reported two people fishing at the pond. The caller said it was illegal.
5:45 p.m.: A caller in the 2900 block of 8th Street reported someone dropped off a package from Walmart with no address. The caller didn’t see who dropped it off.
9:45 p.m.: A caller in the 2600 block of Arbor Avenue reported he and his girlfriend got into a big argument and she wouldn’t stop calling him.
10:15 p.m.: A caller in the 2400 block of Balsam Avenue reported a man in a blue shirt jumped the fence into the caller’s backyard. When confronted, the man apologized and jumped into the neighbor’s yard.
