TIME AS SUMMER YOUTH PASS IS ISSUED. THE ALI FESTIVAL IS BACK AGAIN FOR THE EIGHTH YEAR. THE FESTIVAL COMMEMORATES MUHAMMAD ALI, WHO PASSED AWAY ON JUNE 3RD IN 2016. THE BIGGEST EVENT OF THE WEEK IS THE COMMUNITY FREE DAY. THE SUNDAY. THE CARNIVAL STYLE CELEBRATION WILL FEATURE GAMES, MUSIC, ACTIVITIES AND FREE ADMISSION TO THE ALI CENTER. OTHER EVENTS INCLUDE THE GREATEST GIVE BACK DAY OF SERVICE NEXT THURSDAY, AND THE MUSIC WITH MUHAMMAD JAZZ CONCERT THAT’S ON JUNE 8TH. The Ali Festival is coming back to Louisville for its eighth year. The festival will be from June 1 to June 9 and celebrates Muhammad Ali's life and his love of his hometown in Louisville. The biggest event of the weeklong festival's biggest event will be Sunday's Community Free Day carnival from noon to 5 p.m. at the Ali Center.The event will have games, music, face painting and free admission to the center. Other events include an Ali-Ville Trolley Tour, Greatest Give Back, Daughter of Greatness and more. There will also be a free concert and talk on June 8 with Grammy-winning jazz musician Christian McBride, who he will be taping for his Sirius XM show.
