Graduation is almost here for high school seniors in Wake County.

Most graduation ceremonies will occur between June 6 and June 14 in downtown Raleigh at the Raleigh Convention Center, the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts (formerly Duke Energy) in Meymandi Hall or Memorial Auditorium in Meymandi Hall.

Since tickets to high school graduation ceremonies are limited, many families will be watching online as their loved ones walk across the stage.

What families should know

Wake County Public Schools issued the following reminders:

  • Plan for traffic and to arrive early. Concerts at nearby Red Hat Amphitheater may impact graduation ceremonies Friday and Saturday in downtown Raleigh.
  • Plan to be seated 15 minutes prior to the scheduled ceremony. Allow ample time to anticipate traffic congestion, parking issues, walking to the venue and finding your seat.
  • Students must be in place at least one hour before the ceremony starts.
  • Carpool. Share a ride from home or school and save on gas and parking.
  • Become familiar with the Raleigh parking map
  • Practice patience and watch for pedestrians. Thousands of students and patrons of other events will be on sidewalks and crosswalks. Pedestrians should observe crossing signals to stay safe.
