Archaeologists from the Louisiana Division of Archaeology took the opportunity Tuesday for a field trip to Morgan City, visiting various locations including Fort Star and the Morgan City Cemetery. They were specifically here to view the home and grounds at 608 Federal Ave., home of Mark Robuck. Robuck has applied to have the house placed on the National Registry of Historic Places, and a Civil War-era belt buckle has been found on the site. Pictured in front of the historic home are are Dr. Chip McGimsey, state archaeologist and Division of Archaeology director; Bailey Hall of the Division of Historic Preservation; Robuck; and archaeologist Sadie Whitehurst.
