Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:08AM

RattanIndia Power Ltd.(up 4.89%), Adani Power Ltd.(up 2.52%), Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 2.46%), Inox Wind Ltd.(up 0.70%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(up 0.48%) and Adani Energy Solutions Ltd.(up 0.12%) were among the top gainers.

Karma Energy Ltd.(down 4.98%), SJVN Ltd.(down 4.26%), Torrent Power Ltd.(down 2.83%), PTC India Ltd.(down 2.30%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 2.29%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(down 2.27%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(down 2.01%), Energy Development Company Ltd.(down 1.99%), Orient Green Power Company Ltd.(down 1.75%) and Indowind Energy Ltd.(down 1.58%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 131.86 points down at 22572.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 407.25 points at 74095.65 at around 10:08AM.

Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.86%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.81%), State Bank of India(up 0.53%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 0.5%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.49%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.45%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.23%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.14%) and Asian Paints Ltd.(up 0.07%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Steel Ltd.(down 3.94%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 3.0%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 2.46%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 2.36%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 2.24%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 1.83%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 1.72%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.66%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 1.56%) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.47%) were trading in the red.
