Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:49AM

Emami Ltd.(up 15.08%), Heritage Foods Ltd.(up 10.35%), Varun Beverages Ltd.(up 1.73%), Adani Wilmar Ltd.(up 1.24%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(up 0.79%), Dangee Dums Ltd.(up 0.63%), Jyothy Labs Ltd.(up 0.54%) and Euro India Fresh Foods Ltd.(up 0.42%) were among the top gainers.

Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd.(down 4.66%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 2.75%), Honasa Consumer Ltd.(down 1.92%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(down 1.88%), Marico Ltd.(down 1.87%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd.(down 1.77%), Colgate-Palmolive(India)Ltd.(down 1.66%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(down 1.61%), Vadilal Industries Ltd.(down 1.53%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.43%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 116.75 points down at 22587.95, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 371.15 points at 74131.75 at around 10:49AM.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.86%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.62%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 0.58%), State Bank of India(up 0.56%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.54%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.44%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 0.43%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 0.39%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 0.35%) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.22%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Steel Ltd.(down 3.33%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 2.71%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 2.33%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 2.32%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 2.02%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 2.0%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 1.54%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.45%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.45%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.43%) were trading in the red.
