MSD board approves rate increase for Jefferson, Oldham counties

MSD rates will increase in Jefferson and Oldham counties.The MSD board has approved a 6.9% increase for those counties.Officials say the money will be used on projects to repair sewer, flood protection, and drainage systems.With this increase, around $5.19 will be added to Jefferson County residential bills, while about $3.74 will be added to Oldham County residential bills.The rate increase will take effect on Aug. 1.MSD does offer discounts for qualified low-income customers. Qualified residents can receive up to a 30% discount.Under MSD's fiscal year 2025 budget, it will be investing more than $298.8 million across 208 projects.MSD increased rates for Jefferson and Oldham counties last August as well.
