Minors: Graham Pauley paces El Paso; Robby Snelling takes loss as Missions swept in doubleheader

Padres prospect Graham Pauley has eight extra-base hits over his last eight games

Graham Pauley is beginning to heat up again.

The Padres’ 23-year-old prospect doubled twice and drove in three runs, leading Triple-A El Paso to an 8-0 win at Round Rock.

Pauley also singled and scored two runs while playing the entire game at second base.

Pauley is hitting .246/.379/.435 in 19 games in May, but he has eight extra-base hits over his last eight games.

Pauley was 0-for-9 over his previous two games before doubling twice on Wednesday. He had a two-homer game on Saturday, giving him six on the season in the Pacific Coast League.

Left fielder Tirso Ornelas (.857 OPS) drove in three runs on two hits, including a double, and designated hitter Oscar Mercado (.767 OPS) and right fielder Cal Mitchell (.855 OPS) also had doubles.

Right-hander Gabe Mosser (2-2, 7.36 ERA) threw 5 ⅓ shutout innings in the start for the win.

El Paso is 21-32.

  • Frisco 6, Missions 3 (7): LHP Robby Snelling (1-4, 5.14 ERA) allowed six runs on seven hits and four walks. RF Robert Perez Jr. (.682 OPS) went 1-for-2 with his third homer and three RBIs. 1B Robbie Tenerowicz (.663 OPS) went 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored.
  • Frisco 6, Missions 4 (7): LF Cole Cummings (.725 OPS) went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Perez went 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a walk. Frisco scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth off the San Antonio bullpen, which included an unearned run off LHP Jayvien Sandridge (2.76 ERA)

HIGH SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (21-26)

  • Wisconsin 4, TinCaps 3 (10): LHP Jagger Haynes (5.01 ERA) allowed a run on four hits and three walks in 5 ⅓ innings I the start. RHP Bradgley Rodriguez (4.02 ERA) blew the save with two runs allowed in two innings. CF Homer Bush Jr. (.674 OPS) went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two steals, giving him a system-best 26. DH Ethan Salas (.610 OPS) went 0-for-5 with a walk.

LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (22-23)

  • Storm 5, Rancho Cucamonga 4 (10): 2B Chase Valentine (.851 OPS) went 3-for-5 with a double and a walk-off single in extra innings. SS Leodalis De Vries (.615 OPS) drove in two runs on two hits, including a double. He also walked. RF Ryan Wilson (.622 OPS) went 2-for-4 with a run scored. RHP Thomas Balboni Jr. (3-1, 5.82 ERA) struck out three over 1⅓ innings in the win.
