With sleep taking the forefront in the broader health and wellness movement, Westin is intensifying its focus on the topic by revamping its products, elevating modern design, and offering globally renowned wellness programs.

Building on its legacy of delivering deep, restorative sleep for guests, Westin Hotels & Resorts, a part of Marriott Bonvoy’s extensive portfolio, is launching the next generation of its renowned Heavenly® Bed. Developed in collaboration with leading sleep experts, Westin associates, and guests, this new iteration of the Heavenly Bed reinforces the brand’s mission and holistic wellness approach, empowering discerning travelers to improve their well-being while traveling

As a leader in wellness within the hospitality industry, Westin has long recognized sleep as a fundamental component of well-being. Today, many travelers view a restorative night’s sleep as a crucial part of their travel experience, an area where Westin has been an authority for decades. This growing emphasis on sleep quality reflects a broader trend, with the sleep sector projected to expand by over $400 billion through 2028. The original Heavenly Bed not only set a standard for comfort in the industry but also inspired consumers to elevate their home sleep experience, leading to the sale of over 500,000 Heavenly Beds via the Westin Store.

Buoyed by its sustained success and esteemed reputation, Westin embarked on a multi-year initiative to enhance the sleep experience for guests and promote well-being across its 240+ hotels and resorts worldwide.

“An industry benchmark was set with the launch of our legacy Heavenly Bed in 1999, and it now serves as a testament to our unwavering commitment to provide the very best sleep experiences for guests around the world. In a culture that has long glorified busyness and productivity, Westin knows that a good night’s sleep is paramount to guests’ overall well-being, which is why our iconic Heavenly Bed has resonated with travelers for decades,” said Brian Povinelli, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Marketing and Brand, Marriott International. “Understanding the devoted fanbase the legacy bed has garnered over the years; our goal was to listen and carefully review every aspect of the guest and associate experience, ensuring each update was both intentional and impactful. We are confident that it will exceed the expectations of both loyal and future Westin guests across the globe and again raise the bar for the comfort of our guests.”

Westin is setting a new standard for restorative sleep on the road through a comprehensive development process that included testing thousands of products, hosting consumer focus groups, and conducting property listening sessions. They also researched the evolution of sleep comfort and technology. This extensive effort resulted in a top-of-the-line product featuring a modernized design and a commitment to continuously enhance the Westin Sleep Well experience.

The next generation Heavenly Bed mattress features a plush-top with an innovative silver fiber weave and added layers of temperature-regulating gel-infused memory foam, offering a superior sleep experience. All bedding materials have been upgraded to hypoallergenic options. The blended duvet insert, wrapped in smooth cotton, is designed to regulate temperature and keep guests cool. Departing from the previous all-white aesthetic, the new design includes a charcoal blanket and full-frame piping on pillowcases for a warm, residential feel and a cloud-like appearance. The richly woven blanket, inspired by the brand’s biophilic design principle, features a tone-on-tone pattern and serves as both an additional layer of warmth and a beautiful coverlet. Additional updates include sateen linens with a natural matte finish and the removal of the bed skirt and bolster pillow, reflecting a more modern sleep experience based on guest feedback.
