Marshall S Flam’s Wordle-Inspired Limerick Collection Set to Entertain in Exhibit Scheduled for Printers Row Lit Fest 2024
The Printers Row Lit Fest is one of the largest outdoor book fairs in the U.S. as well as a cultural celebration of Chicago’s book publishing legacy. Thus, it’s a fitting venue for authors who have written all sorts of witty and unconventional works of prose like Marshall S Flam MD. His book, “Wordle Limericks,” is exactly what it says on the cover, presenting readers with a humorous project inspired by the author’s experience with the hit internet word-guessing game.
“I read and re-read all the limericks and the notes related to each one. I found the whole concept to be very creative and educational. I do the daily Wordle religiously and reading these open up a new dimension to the process. What an exciting project this must have been. I highly recommend it to anyone especially those who enjoy Wordle.” – Dina Kassel
Every year, the Printers Row Lit Fest invites everyone to explore the streets of Chicago as they’re transformed for two days of reading outdoors and celebrating the city’s history as a thriving book publishing hub. Shelves upon shelves of books will be exhibited, giving everyone a chance to encounter all sorts of surprising reads on their stroll.
Likewise, authors like Dr. Flam are taking it as an opportunity to showcase the result of their fascinating and creative writing projects. In his case, it’s a humorous collection of over 600 limericks based on the daily wordle word titled “Wordle Limericks.”
“Wordle Limericks: Flamericks” is a book that contains over 600 limericks, each one inspired by Dr. Flam’s daily experience playing Wordle, the hit word-guessing web game. Instead of the usual bawdry limericks, these witty verses cover a wide range of topics, including science, medicine, politics, music, history, and many others. Footnotes accompany the more obscure references, adding an educational dimension to the collection. The theme of the book is “Laugh & Learn.” Dr. Flam is passionate about creating these limericks to entertain, educate, and make readers contemplate and rekindle their memories and feelings. They also encourage readers to do additional research. The book can be a delightful pastime to share with family and friends.
The book is also Dr. Flam’s first-ever publication on matters not related to medicine. A graduate of M.I.T., he practiced Hematology and Oncology for 40 years but now enjoys a wide range of hobbies in his retirement. His love for traveling coincides pleasantly with the many cultural book fairs in which he has chosen to feature his book.
Visitors to the 2024 Printers Row Lit Fest can find “Wordle Limericks: Flamericks” by Marshall S Flam MD on display at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit booth. In addition, the author will be signing copies of his book.
