Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.42% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 11:15AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Exide Industries Ltd.(up 4.31 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.72 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 0.87 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 0.75 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 0.5 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bosch Ltd.(down 1.56 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.81 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.4 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent) and Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.15 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.42 per cent at 23976.7 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 36.65 points at 22969.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 73.86 points at 75464.36.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Inox Wind Ltd., RattanIndia Power, YES Bank and NALCO were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of SMS Lifesciences Ind, Ashima Ltd, DOMS Industries, Excel Realty N Infra and Vijaya Diagnostic hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Priti International, Revathi Equipment, Lakshmi Precis, Ahimsa Ind and Madhav Marbles hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
