The railway line between Didcot Parkway and Oxford was blocked yesterday after a person was hit by a train.
It happened at around 5.15pm on Monday (May 27).
All services running between the two stations were cancelled or delayed while emergency services carried out their work.
A statement by train operator Great Western Railway (GWR) said: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Didcot Parkway and Oxford, the line is blocked.
"Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 6.15pm."
This morning a spokesperson for GWR confirmed: “Sadly a person was hit by a train between Didcot Parkway and Oxford yesterday at around 5.15pm.
"The line was reopened at approximately 8pm.”
The Oxford Mail has contacted Thames Valley Police for further information.
