Letter: Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club celebrates the Class of 2024
We would like to take a moment to celebrate the Class of 2024 and to honor the accomplishments of 31 Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club student-athletes who have made extraordinary contributions to their sport, team, school and community.
The Class of 2024 has shown grit, determination and perseverance despite the challenges as they closed their middle school years and began their high school journey. Many student-athletes joined SSWSC programs soon after they could walk in Little Toots, and some went on to spend the rest of their school years devoted to their sport, striving for their personal best in academics and athletics. We celebrate their dedication and commitment. Some became national champions, youth Olympians, National Honor Society Members, National Merit Scholars and NCAA committed athletes. However, the accomplishments of these graduates now are less about the podiums, the medals, the grades or their other achievements. It is about the people they’ve become, the skills they carry into the world, and the character they’ve built with SSWSC and this entire community.
The strong foundation of these graduates is a testament to the unwavering support of our incredible community. Thank you to the Steamboat Springs School District, Steamboat Mountain School, Yampa Valley High School, the city of Steamboat Springs, Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp., and countless other supporters, and, of course, to the dedicated parents, siblings, grandparents and incredible coaches who have made this moment possible.
SSWSC student-athletes are truly champions on and off the mountain, and we look forward to what they will do as they enter the world and take their next steps in life. Congratulations to the Class of 2024.
