A 14-year-old boy who disappeared while swimming on Memorial Day has been found dead, New Albany police said.Police say that Andre Edwards Jr. was swimming at Silver Creek near Providence Way on Monday. Jim Schreck, an Indiana DNR spokesperson, said the boy was playing in the creek with friends and a family member when he either slipped or jumped off the dam.New Albany police and fire departments, along with Clarksville police and fire departments, and the Indiana Conservation Office responded to the area around 4 p.m. to look for the boy. After nearly six hours of searching for Edwards, police said he was found dead in the area he was last seen. A cause of death has not been released at this time.The investigation into his death is still ongoing, police said.
