The US sheriff who supervised the prosecution of Tom and Molly Martens for the murder of Irish widower Jason Corbett has said he believes the father and daughter got off with “a slap” for the brutal killing.

Former North Carolina sheriff David Grice made the comments in his first public statement since the former FBI agent and his daughter successfully challenged their 2017 second-degree murder convictions.
