A pickup truck on Sunday night crashed into home in Cumberland County, hitting a new car parked in the garage.

Around 11 p.m., crews responded to a home on Sand Hill Road near Fayetteville.

The State Highway Patrol said the driver of a pickup truck ran off the side of the road, over-corrected and lost control, crashing into the home's garage.

Alcohol was not expected to be a factor.

No one else was inside the truck.

The American Red Cross was on site to help the family who lived in the home, because the house sustained structural damage.

Crews told WRAL News the house was relatively new, approximately 18 months old, and the car inside the garage that was hit by the pick up was only one month old
