    What's the story

SKODA Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has reached a significant production milestone, manufacturing over 15 lakh vehicles in India. This landmark achievement was accomplished at the company's Chakan facility in Pune. The group also announced the production of over 3.80 lakh locally-made engines and more than three lakh units of made-in-India '2.0 products,' further solidifying its presence in the Indian market.

The company's portfolio includes over 300,000 units of models such as the Kushaq, Taigun, Slavia, and Virtus. The engine manufacturing division of the group also celebrates a decade of operations with over 380,000 units produced. Notably, over 30% of these made-in-India models are exported abroad. This highlights SKODA-VW India's significant contribution to the global market from its Indian operations.

Currently, the Chakan facility is engaged in producing India 2.0 products including Kushaq, Taigun, Slavia, and Virtus. These vehicles are based on the MQB-A0-IN platform that was specifically designed for India.
