SIMMONS COLLEGE. HOPING TO BRING THE COMMUNITY TOGETHER, LOCAL LEADERS ARE LAUNCHING AN EVENT EACH SATURDAY THAT FEATURES FOOD, FUN AND MUSIC. THE BEECHMONT NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION AND SEVERAL MEMBERS OF METRO COUNCIL HELPED MAKE THE GRAND OPENING OF THE SOUTH END COMMUNITY MARKET POSSIBLE, OPENING AT EIGHT THIS MORNING AT IROQUOIS PARK. THE MARKET FEATURED EVERYTHING FROM CANNED FOOD AND BAKED GOODS, FRESH PLANTS, AND EVEN CLOTHING AND CRAFTS. WE WANTED TO BE IN A LOCATION WHERE EVERYONE WAS WELCOME DESPITE CREED, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER, UM, OR RACIAL ORIENTATION. Louisville leaders are launching a market hoping to bring the community together with food, music and fun.The Beechmont Neighborhood Association and several members of the Louisville Metro Council helped make the grand opening of "The South End Community Market" possible.The market is located at Iroquois Park and includes everything from canned goods to baked items, fresh plants, clothing and crafts.We wanted it to be in a location where everyone is welcomed despite sexual orientation, gender, or racial orientation," said Heather Graham with South End Community Market. "Iroquois Park and Metro Parks have provided us with that and we are so very grateful."The market will be open every Saturday until Oct. 26.Read about other area markets below:
