Police arrested a man believed to be connected to the stabbing of four girls at the AMC Braintree 10 and two adults at a McDonalds in Plymouth, officials announced yesterday.

Around 6 p.m. a man entered a movie theater after walking past the ticket counter without paying, police reported. He then encountered four girls whose ages ranged from 9-17 years old and, without any warning, attacked and stabbed them.

The man, whose identity has not yet been disclosed by police, then ran out of the theater and fled in a black SUV. Braintree police and detectives retraced the man’s movements after reviewing surveillance footage. Police also viewed footage that provided them with a license plate of the getaway car.

A vehicle matching a description sent out by police was reportedly involved in another stabbing at the McDonalds in the Route 3 Park and Ride in Plymouth, according to the Massachusetts State Police Department. State troopers reported to the scene around 7:04 p.m. on Saturday where they found a 21-year-old woman and 29-year-old man with apparent stab wounds.

State troopers then tracked the SUV to Sandwich and attempted to pull it over, but the driver continued to drive before crashing and ultimately being arrested by state and local police, officials reported.

The girls in Braintree suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were all transported to Boston hospitals for further treatment. The two in Plymouth also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to local hospitals for further treatment.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing by local and state law enforcement.
