Sheriff’s Office seeks public assistance with animal cruelty investigation

On May 13, a deputy with the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office discovered a deceased puppy near the intersection of Moffat County Roads 22 and 24. Upon further inspection, two additional puppies were found deceased. All three had been shot.
Three additional live puppies were also discovered and safely rescued at the same location. They are currently being cared for at the Humane Society of Moffat County.
All six puppies were males, estimated to be around four months old.
The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the discovery and asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information about the puppies should contact the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office at 970-824-4495.
