It bills itself as a "one-of-a-kind Bluegrass sanctuary nestled in the lush hills of Oldham County, Kentucky." The water at the quarry is spring-fed and naturally maintained by rain.That makes it clear, clean and natural, according to the park.You can't swim beneath the surface as park officials deem it too deep for that, but you can snorkel, paddleboard, pedal boat, kayak, canoe (all available for rent) or just float. Those without floats can buy one or noodle at the entrance.FRP is also a place for scuba divers. Those who aren't certified can take classes.You can't bring alcohol or drugs. Staff will search car for that upon arrival, but there are food and several non-alcoholic drink options on site. A pass is required to enter.
