An Oxfordshire pub near Wallingford has been hit with a low food hygiene rating after a recent inspection.
The Queens Head in Crowmarsh Gifford has been handed a two-out-of-five food hygiene rating after an inspection on April 18 from the council’s environmental health team. The Queens Head pub is less than two miles Wallingford town centre.
The score following the assessment means improvement is deemed to be "necessary".
It means that of South Oxfordshire's 283 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 148 (52 per cent) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
The inspection looks at hygienic food handling, cleanliness and the condition of facilities and management of food safety.
Businesses given low ratings are told what specific improvements are needed to improve hygiene standards.
