In an ambitious bid to invigorate its tourism sector, Thailand has announced the extension of its visa exemption policy for tourists from India and Taiwan. Initially set to conclude on May 10, 2024, the successful program will now continue until November 11, 2024, marking a significant extension aimed at boosting tourist inflows.

This policy extension allows Indian and Taiwanese tourists to enjoy up to 30 days of visa-free travel within Thailand, focusing solely on tourism purposes. The decision follows the initial phase that started on November 10, 2023, which proved to be a catalyst for increased visitor numbers from these countries.

By extending this initiative, Thailand aims to sustain the tourism momentum generated over the past six months and further capitalize on the growing travel interest from these key markets. This strategic move is expected to significantly enhance cultural exchanges and economic interactions between Thailand and the benefiting countries, reinforcing Thailand’s position as a top travel destination in Asia.
