An Indian takeaway in Wantage has been hit with a low food hygiene rating after a recent inspection.
Penguin Indian Dosa & Fish Bar on Mill Street has been handed a two-out-of-five food hygiene rating after an inspection on April 18 from the council’s environmental health team.
The score following the assessment means improvement is deemed to be "necessary".
It means that of the Vale of White Horse's 65 takeaways with ratings, 40 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
The inspection looks at hygienic food handling, cleanliness and the condition of facilities and management of food safety.
Businesses given low ratings are told what specific improvements are needed to improve hygiene standards.
