Meet the artist & author behind 'The Moonborn'

The Moonborn owner, Gabby Romero Lacruz, will be exhibiting at Comicpalooza May 24 - 26, 2024.

HOUSTON — With The Moonborn, Gabby Romero Lacruz strives to design and bring to life products that positively reflect the diverse world we live in. With her art, she is bringing representation to brown, black, and queer voices, while still depicting the power of friendships, the vastness of the universe and what it means to look up to the stars and dream.

Gabby launched The Moonborn in 2018 as an outlet to express her passion for enamel pins. Since then, her brand has expanded to offer mugs, jewelry, apparel, stationery, and handmade clay creations

THE MOONBORN OFFERS:

• Mugs

• Pins: enamel pins, acrylic pins, handmade clay pins

• Stationery: stickers, bookmarks, memo pads, washi tape

• Apparel: graphic t-shirts, graphic crewnecks, tote bags

• Accessories: earrings, keychains

Gabby is also author of "The Sun and the Void," an epic fantasy set in a world inspired by 1800s post-colonial Venezuela. It was published by Orbit in the US and Daphne Press in the UK, where it became an instant #1 Sunday Times bestseller. It has also been published in Spain and Latin America and will be published in Italy later this year. She is working on its sequel, titled "The River and the Star," which will release in the Summer of 2025.

Gabby will attend a panel at Comicpalooza alongside authors Jim Butcher and Aparna Verma to chat about second world fantasies in literature. She will also be exhibiting at Comicpalooza May 24 - 26, 2024.
