    Samsung’s QD-OLED monitor panel is a hit; more than a million units shipped

    Samsung Display, the display manufacturing arm of Samsung Electronics, has announced that its QD-OLED monitor panels are a hit. The company has shipped more than a million QD-OLED panels for monitors over the past two and a half years.

    Samsung Display ships over 1 million QD-OLED monitor panels since late 2021

    Samsung Display entered the gaming monitor market with its QD-OLED panel in late 2021. Since then, the company has shipped over a million units, making it a hit among PC users. The company's current QD-OLED monitor panel lineup includes  27-inch, 31.5-inch, 34-inch, and 49-inch models. Their resolution reaches 4K, while the refresh rate goes as high as 360Hz.

    Samsung Display QD-OLED Monitor Sales 1 MIllion

    The company has 10 clients in the monitor industry, and over 90 monitors using Samsung's QD-OLED panels have been launched until now. Samsung Display is now planning to enter the professional monitor segment with its QD-OLED panels.

    The QD-OLED monitor market is growing steadily, and it is expected to grow at an annual rate of 12.3% until 2029, accounting for 10% of the overall market share by that year. Overall, the QD-OLED monitor industry is expected to hit $1.03 billion. Samsung Display currently has a 79.7% share of the QD-OLED monitor market.

    Brad Jung, Vice President and Head of the Large Display Marketing Team at Samsung Display, said, “Since pioneering the self-illuminating monitor market with QD-OLED in 2021, Samsung Display has been recognized by global customers for its distinctive image quality. This technology has been incorporated into various premium monitors. Samsung Display will expand its QD-OLED shipments this year to more than double year-on-year by expanding its product lineup beyond gaming monitors.
